goodbye Belfast hello Barcelona

After a lovely day tour to the Mourne Mountain we were greeted with the email to say our Barcelona apartment was no longer available because of water damage.. Not happy! After some investigation found that the new apartment allocated to us instead was at the top of 3 flights of stairs and above a nightclub and no lift so Michael did some research and found a nice apartment not too far away from the original one but has better amenities and in a quieter area. It even catered for the disabled, but we won't go in to that.. Frantic calls and emails from 5 am and  everything was rebooked and organised. Aileen said "well done Michael",

Ordered the taxi to the airport only to find out that the concierge and taxi driver had never heard of the airline Vueling, and certainly not from George Best airport. Again some frantic searching and yes we taught the taxi driver and concierge something new. Vueling does work out of George Best airport. The final Irish joke?

All now relaxed and waiting to board our plane to Barcelona .Took two hours to get through check  in and security.

Hola EspaƱa

Arrived in Barcelona rang Victor our host and headed to the apartment which was fantastic, on a main road but quiet 7th floor apartment.

Victor gave us good tips on the local shopping and eating and all only 100 mtrs away.

Beer is about 60 cents a stubby as compared to $5 in the supermarket at Belfast.

Unpacked .did some shopping and then sat on the balcony having dip and beers, around 20 degrees at 8.30 pm what a difference from cold depressing Belfast to warm happy Barcelona. It is 8:30 pm and we are sitting, sipping beer and wine on the balcony.. All day tour tomorrow looking at the sites, a new holiday begins.
