Venice or swim

Today started early with a 3am wake up. Taxi arrived at 4:15 to take us to the airport. No problems with luggage weight, even with the ladies shopping and landing in Venice at 8:30am,
Got onto the water bus and of course lost in translation we got on the wrong one, Anyway got a good look at Venice. Arrived at the correct point and waited for 1 hour for our contact to take us to our apartment. We would never have found it on our own,
Some surprise stairs to negotiate, unpacked and then off to explore.
Had an interesting lunch with a very frazzled waiter and some pigeons who seem to eat better than the patrons.Then off to the Grande Canal which is under some renovations.
Picked up some supplies, walked back to the apartment and settled in for an early night.
